DAY 1
WEDNESDAY, 6TH MARCH 2024
ARRIVE CAPE TOWN INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT
Your driver will be waiting to transfer you to your hotel on the Atlantic Seaboard in Cape Town. The rest of the day is at leisure to build your bikes and take a short test ride. In the evening, your guide will provide a short briefing to help you prepare for the days ahead.

DAY 2
THURSDAY, 7TH MARCH 2024
GUIDED RIDE 1: APPROXIMATELY 70KM / 43 MILES
After breakfast today, you will depart the hotel on your first cycle training tour in South Africa’s Mother City. While you can expect heavy traffic as you navigate the city streets, you’ll soon reach the scenic west coast road that will take you through the seaside resort of Bloubergstrand. From here, you’ll continue to Melkbosstrand for a coffee shop break, before returning along the same route. You can expect spectacular vistas of Table Mountain today!

DAY 3
FRIDAY, 8TH MARCH 2024
GUIDED RIDE 2: APPROXIMATELY 50KM / 30 MILES
At 08h30, you will cycle part of the iconic Cape Town Cycle Tour Route in reverse, departing directly from the hotel. You will cycle through Camps Bay and Hout Bay to Noordhoek for a coffee shop break, before heading back along the same route, taking in both Chapman’s Peak and Suikerbossie – your two biggest challenges on race day.
CAPE TOWN CYCLE TOUR REGISTRATION & EXPO
At 14h00, we will head to the Cape Town Cycle Tour Registration and EXPO to collect our race packs. A complimentary one-way transfer is provided. After collecting your race packs, the rest of the day is at leisure for you to shop the expo and make your own way back to the hotel.

DAY 4
SATURDAY, 9TH MARCH 2024
RACE DAY BRIEFING
Today you have a day at leisure to soak up the electric atmosphere of Cape Town during the cycle tour weekend. At 17h30, we will regroup for our race day briefing; an informal event where you can enjoy some complimentary drinks, ask any last-minute questions about race day, and meet other Equatours guests.

DAY 5
SUNDAY, 10TH MARCH 2024
CAPE TOWN CYCLE TOUR 2024: APPROXIMATELY 109KM / 68 MILES
Today is the day you have been waiting for! After an early breakfast, you will cycle the short ride to the start line in the city centre to join your seeded group. Once you have crossed the finish line and collected your medal, you can either head straight back to the hotel or meet Team Equatours at the hospitality area for a group celebration.
At 18h00, we’ll regroup in the hotel reception and transfer to a local restaurant for our Cape Town Cycle Tour After Party and celebration.

DAY 6
MONDAY, 11TH MARCH 2024
GUIDED RIDE 3: DURBANVILLE TO STELLENBOSCH: APPROXIMATELY 50KM / 30 MILES
After breakfast today, you will load your bikes and luggage onto the support vehicle and transfer approximately 45-minutes to Durbanville. Here, you will unload your bikes and cycle through the Cape Winelands to Stellenbosch, your base for the next three nights. After checking in to the hotel, you’ll have the option to relax by the pool or explore the pretty University Town. The evening is yours to experience the many bars and restaurants on your doorstep in Stellies.

DAY 7
TUESDAY, 12TH MARCH 2024
GUIDED RIDE 4: APPROXIMATE CYCLING DISTANCE 70KM / 43MILES
After breakfast today, you will set off your next training ride in the Cape Winelands to Franschhoek with its centuries-old vineyards and Cape Dutch architecture. After a short ride out of town, you’ll tackle the stunning Helshoogte Pass – one of the most beautiful climbs in the region, before turning right and continuing on a relatively flat road to the pretty town of Franschhoek where you will enjoy a drink and snack. Those wishing to test themselves further will have the opportunity to cycle up and down the Franschhoek Pass, which is a demanding but very doable climb with spectacular vistas.
Afterwards, you’ll cycle back along the same route to the hotel for an evening at leisure.

DAY 8
WEDNESDAY, 13TH MARCH 2024
GUIDED RIDE 5: APPROXIMATE CYCLING DISTANCE 66KM / 41 MILES
Prepare for some spectacular scenery today! After breakfast, you’ll transfer approximately 45-minutes to Gordon’s Bay, where you’ll cycle Clarence Drive, one of the most scenic coastal roads in Southern Africa. You’ll cycle all the way to Betty’s Bay, between the mountains and the ocean, where you’ll stop for a drink and snack near the Penguin colony. Afterwards, you’ll cycle back along the same route to Gordon’s Bay, where you’ll load your bikes and head to a local winery for a wine-tasting experience before transferring back to the hotel.

DAY 9
THURSDAY, 14TH MARCH 2024
DEPARTURE
After breakfast today, you will have a few hours at leisure to pack your bike and shop for last-minute souvenirs before your driver collects you and returns you to the airport for your return flight home. ***End of Services***
