DAY 1: CAPE TOWN

Upon arrival in Cape Town, please collect your luggage, clear immigration and proceed to the arrivals hall where you will find signs to the car rental company. Here you will collect your rental car before driving to the hotel in Sea Point on the Atlantic Seaboard of Cape Town.

DAY 2: CAPE TOWN

Today you have a free-day in Cape Town to explore Africa’s most beautiful city. You could take the Table Mountain Cable Car, take a Boat Trip to Robben Island, or head to the white sandy beaches of Camps Bay – where you might just spot a celebrity or two!

DAY 3. CAPE TOWN

Take a leisurely morning drive to the Cape of Good Hope and visit the Penguins of Boulders Beach. After lunch at Cape Point Vineyards, head to the V&A Waterfront to shop for souvenirs and soak up the atmosphere.

DAY 4: CAPE TOWN - STELLENBOSCH

After a final breakfast in the Mother City, take a short drive (approximately 45-minutes) to Stellenbosch in the Western Cape Winelands where you will overnight. In the afternoon, take a half-day wine-tasting tour or spend the afternoon exploring the pretty colonial town of Stellenbosch.

DAY 5: STELLENBOSCH / FRANSCHHOEK

After a leisurely breakfast, head on over to neighbouring Franschhoek for a fun day in the Cape Winelands on the Franschhoek Wine Tram.

DAY 6: STELLENBOSCH – HERMANUS

After a leisurely breakfast, you will continue your African Adventure along the famous Garden Route. Your first port of call is Hermanus, which is fondly referred to as the Whale Watching Capital of South Africa. Your journey from Stellenbosch to Hermanus will take approximately 1.5 hours. After checking in to your hotel, you could take a boat trip, head to the beaches of Walkers Bay, or visit Creation Wines in Stanford (advanced booking essential).

DAY 7: HERMANUS – PLETTENBERG BAY

Next stop on your Garden Route adventure is the beautiful Plettenberg Bay – South Africa’s seaside resort. With stunning beaches, fabulous seafood restaurants, and great animal adventures such as Birds of Eden, Tenikwa Wildlife Awareness Centre, and the Elephant Sanctuary, there is much to keep you entertained. The drive from Hermanus to Plettenberg Bay will take approximately 5 hours – with plenty of points of interest along the way.

DAY 8: PLETTENBERG BAY

Today you have a full day to enjoy the many activities on offer in Plettenberg Bay and neighbouring Knysna. We recommend taking a boat trip to the Knysna Heads before visiting Robberg National Park. The Lookout Restaurant in Plettenberg Bay is a popular lunch hotspot for those who enjoy fresh fish and seafood.

DAY 9: PLETTENBERG BAY – ST. FRANCIS BAY

Continue your Garden Route adventure towards St. Francis Bay, which is approximately a 2-hour drive from Plettenberg Bay. We recommend visiting Tsitsikamma National Park along the way, where you can enjoy lunch and a walk over the suspension bridges.

DAY 10: ST. FRANCIS BAY – KENTON-ON-SEA

Enjoy breakfast before making your way to your final stop Kenton-on-Sea, where you will spend the next 2 nights in this pretty coastal town.

DAY 11: KENTON-ON-SEA

Today you have a full day at leisure to enjoy Kenton-on Sea. You could visit the many beaches, go whale watching in Bluewater Bay or go hiking along the nearby Assegaai Trails.

DAY 12: KENTON-ON-SEA – PORT ELIABETH – TIMBAVATI PRIVATE RESERVE

Today you have an early start to ensure you get the most out of your safari experience. You should aim to leave Kenton-on-Sea at around 5am so that you have plenty of time to drive to the airport (approximately 1.5 hours) drop off your rental car and catch your early morning flight to Hoedspruit.

Upon arrival at Hoedspruit Airport, a driver will be waiting to transfer you to your luxury Safari Lodge in the Timbavati Private Nature Reserve in the Greater Kruger National Park. After checking in, you’ll have a few hours at leisure before heading off on your first game drive.

Overnight: Thabamati Luxury Tented Camp (or similar)

Meals Included: All meals, house wines, beers and spirits, teas & coffees, twice daily game drives in open top safari vehicles, a guided bush walk and complimentary WIFI.

 

DAY 13: TIMBAVATI PRIVATE RESERVE

Start your day with an early morning game drive in the African Bush. Afterwards, you’ll return to camp for a delicious breakfast before spending the rest of the morning at leisure. Should you wish, you can take a guided bush walk with your ranger. After lunch, you’ll have further time to relax before heading out on your sunset game drive.

DAY 14: DEPARTURE

Time permitting, you’ll have the opportunity to enjoy a final sunrise game drive before breakfast. Afterwards, your driver will collect you and transfer you to Hoedspruit Airport for your onward flight to Johannesburg where you will connect with your return flight home.
