4-Day Safari Tanzania: Ngorongoro Crater, Serengeti, Karatu Town

Highlighting two of Tanzania’s most beautiful National Parks, this fabulous 4-Day Safari Experience will take you to both the Ngorongoro Crater and the Serengeti Plains, where you will have the unique opportunity to get up close and personal with some of Africa’s most beautiful wildlife.

The Serengeti National Park and the Ngorongoro National Park were both declared UNESCO World Heritage Sites in 1979, and as such, they remain pristine and beautifully preserved. As the largest unbroken caldera in the world, the Ngorongoro Crater is quite unlike anywhere else in Africa, and it homes a large concentration of wildlife including lions, elephants, hyenas, black rhino, and thousands of grazers such as zebra and wildebeest.

Anyone looking for a truly authentic African safari experience will find it in the Serengeti Plains. Wildlife sightings are spectacular here, and if you time your trip to coincide with the annual Great Migration, you could get to see one of the world’s greatest natural wonders with your very own eyes.

Day 1: Arusha – Ngorongoro Crater                                                                                          

Depart Arusha on your four-day safari to the Ngorongoro Crater, where you will begin your safari experience immediately with a game drive on the crater floor. After breaking for a picnic style lunch overlooking one of the many watering holes, you will continue searching for your favourite animals, before heading to your hotel for dinner and overnight. Picnic Lunch & Dinner included.      

Day 2: Ngorongoro Crater – Serengeti

After breakfast today, you will continue your journey to the world-famous Serengeti National Park. After clearing the park gates, you will head straight to your bush camp where you will enjoy lunch before heading off on an evening game drive on the Serengeti Plains. You will return to camp in time to freshen up and enjoy ‘sundowner’ cocktails before dinner and stargazing. Breakfast, Picnic Lunch & Dinner included.

Day 3: Serengeti National Park

Today you will enjoy a full day safari in the Serengeti National Park.  Your guide will escort you across the open plains in search of the Big 5, stopping where necessary to allow you to capture the most special moments on film. A picnic lunch will be enjoyed inside the park, and you will return to camp in time to relax and unwind in front of the campfire before dinner is served. Breakfast, Picnic Lunch & Dinner included.

Day 4: Ngorongoro Crater – Karatu Town – Arusha                                                                                                   

Today you will make your way back to Arusha, stopping at Karatu Town along the way. The gateway to the Ngorongoro Highlands, Karatu is a vibrant and colourful African town where you can practice your bartering skills for locally made arts, crafts and souvenirs. Time permitting, you may also visit a Masai Village. Upon arrival in Arusha, you will have access to a day room where you can shower and change before transferring to the airport for your return flight home, or continue with your Tanzanian adventure. Breakfast & Picnic Lunch included.
